• Knowledge of principles and practices of safe bus transportation of special needs students • Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the transportation of special needs students • Knowledge of District, and State policy regarding special needs students and bus transportation • Ability to maintain student discipline and safety • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others • Ability to restrain students when necessary • Successfully pass annual physical and drug/alcohol test • Assist students as they enter and exit the bus • Supervise students while in transit • Escort student(s) to classroom when necessary • Document and maintain records of problems or unusual situations • Inform driver, teacher, transportation director and/or parents of such problems • Assure seat belts and/or safety restraints for wheelchairs are properly in place |
